Temple Square

We finally made it down to see the lights at Temple Square. It was a night out with Payton. Too cold for Beckam so we dropped him off at my mom's. Tim's parents are in town so they brought our three nephews and met us. First we went to dinner at Olive Garden. I think Payton ate more salad and cheese than anything else. She is definitely my kid! :-)

When we got out of the car and headed towards the temple she would say, "wook at the Temple" Payton loved the lights. She told us the colors of the lights as we walked around. But what she really loved was the Christus statue. When we got up to the top of the ramp she said, "Jesus". When we left she said, "Thank you Jesus, Bye Jesus" She loved it!! The funny thing is she kept telling us after that "she wanted to go back up and see Jesus" It was pretty cute! We then went and saw the nativity and she would say, "wook mom, baby Jesus and Mary" We wandered around and looked at the lights and then went to the top floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building to look down. I think her favorite part was she got to get out of her stroller and RUN!! She loved that! She also loved seeing the horsies, from the carriage rides. She would say "bye horsies". She kept running around with the boys. I was surprised because my nephews are twins and she knows which one is which and knows their names. When she was running around with them she kept calling out there names, "Jake and Blake" Tim kept calling them " Shake and Bake" So Payton started calling them "Shake and Bake" She giggled the whole way back to the car!!

one month

Where did the time go? Our little Beckam is already a month old! We are having so much fun watching him change. When he was born he did not have eyelashes or eyebrows and now they are coming in. His hair is also getting longer. I actually think that we have a blondie :-). Tim & I were both blond when we were little. We will see. I am amazed at how strong our little guy is. He is also very alert. He now focuses on things pretty well. He also has been pretty smiley. :-) He still has a little jaundice and so hopefully we can get rid of that soon. But with the way he eats I am sure he will. He typically eats every 4 to 5 hours and is already eating 4 to 6 oz!! He is an okay sleeper. He sleeps 4 to 5 hours right now. Some may think that is great but we were spoiled with Payton who slept 6 hours her first 2 weeks and then was sleeping through the night.
Payton has also grown to love Beckam a bit more. She likes to get in his face and talk to him. She also likes to help with bath time. Which Beckam is loving! Keep the kid warm and he is content as can be!

Christmas!!

We had a great Christmas! We did our traditional Christmas eve at my mom's house with my family. It is a bit different now that there are more little ones! Before we used to stay up way too late and play lots of games and now we are all getting too old to stay up late, ha ha! We ate and ate and ate tons of good food! My Aunt Patty brought kazoos for the kids to blow Christmas carols. Payton was almost blue from blowing it non-stop! I think she collected everyone's kazoos and carried them around after. We then came home so that Santa could come visit :-)

We just moved Payton up to her own room upstairs. Every morning she has been calling for me to come and get her. But on Christmas morning...Tim & I were still asleep and Tim woke up because he heard some noises. When he came out to see what it was Payton had came out of her room on her own, came downstairs and started playing with her toys. Surprise...mom & dad! She got a cute kitchen that she loves!! She is always helping me in the kitchen and now she has her own!

We then went to Grandma & Papa's where she was spoiled rotten! In fact I think she really enjoyed getting two sets of gifts, no worries Beckam all of your toys will be broken in by the time you are old enough to play with them :-). She loved the fire engine that my parents bought for Beckam. In fact she walked around with it still in the box.

We then headed to my Aunt Patty's and Uncle Dale's house for yummy breakfast. As soon as we pulled in the driveway Payton said, "Patty's house" Tim and I were a bit shocked. She has been to Patty's house before but it has been months! We had breakfast at Patty's and Payton and Rian ate a TON of grapes!! They loved them.

We then went back to my parents where I layed on their floor and snoozed for a while! Meanwhile Payton did not take a nap :-) It was a good day but lots of SNOW! So we came home early and on the way home Payton zonked out for the rest of the night.

The next day Tim's parents came into town and brought "more presents" according to Payton. They brought her a cute Cinderella doll which she calls Tinkerbell, go figure. They also brought some new hair bows that Aunt Tara made, aren't they cute :-)

strong little guy

I think I am going to be in trouble :-) since the day we had him Beckam has been holding up his head. We can already give him tummy time and he will lift his head up. When we took him to the doctor for one of his jaundice checks as soon as they prick his heel he pulls away from them and the nurses comment on how strong he is.

Here are a few photos of our strong guy!!

tinker bells?

First I have to tell you that Payton is obsessed with Tinkerbell. We bought the movie and watched it in my bed on the little DVD player while I was still pregnant. Well soon enough every morning Payton would wake up and want to watch Tinkerbell, EVERY MORNING! Well one of her toys plays "jingle bells" so I have been trying to teach her the words to "jingle bells". This morning she decided to try and sing it but it went like this instead, "tinker bells, tinker bells, tinker all the way"

I loved it!

thanksgiving point

On Wednesday we took Payton to see the lights at thanksgiving point. We stopped the car and put her up front with me, which she loved! But the best part was her pointing at everything and saying, "wook at that" which is "look at that"

lots of updates...

I have been a little busy for blogging but I think I finally caught up! A whole month full of blogs, man time goes by too fast.....

2 weeks

Today we took Beckam in for his 2 week appointment. He weighs 8 pounds 9 ounces and is 21 inches long. He is in the 70% for his height and 75% for his weight and 25% for his head. Tall and skinny with a small head, totally built like his daddy :-)

He still has a bit of jaundice. He is at a 10.5, but the doctor was not worried about him. He said he was a good, healthy little boy (with a good set of lungs). He hates to be cold and so as soon as the doctor unwrapped him he screamed...just like his daddy :-)

My Superstar!

On Sunday when Payton came home from church she was so excited to see me! She had this cute little hat on that they made in nursery. She loves it, a Shining Star!!

jaundice

My poor little guy has jaundice and has still not been able to get rid of it. His poor little heels have been pricked 6 or 7 times. We have seen the doctor almost everyday that he has been here. His counts got up to 17.6 and the put him on a light blanket. It then slowly went down and last Wednesday settled at 11.1. They took him off of the light blankie and so now he is a sunbather. I believe this is caused by my milk! Great I can actually breast feed with this one and I can't because I'm toxic to him :-). My milk never came in with Payton. Believe me it is so much different when it actually comes in. But...we have been doing formula and my milk with this little guy until we can get rid of the jaundice. His 2 week is Monday, so I hope it is gone.

mommy's little helper

Since we have brought Beckam home Payton will wake up in the morning and one of the first thing she says is, "where's Beckam?". She will then go stand over his bassinet and say, "good morning Beckam". It is the cutest thing ever! When Beckam is crying she will tell him, "okay Beckam" as in "it's okay". Today I let her help me out lotion on him after his bath. I think she thought that was pretty neat. She has also helped give him his bottle and his binky. She is a great big sister!

Beckam's middle name

Our cute little Beckam was named after his great grandpa's. Both of our grandpa's on our dad's side are named Ervin. Spelled the exact same! I knew that if I had a little boy he would carry this name very proudly! He is named after two amazing gentleman. They are very similar! They are the friendliest and happiest guys I know. They would do ANYTHING for anyone. What a blessing to have two amazing men to be named after! :-)

Paytie's baby

When we were at the hospital my dad brought Payton over to visit. We had a surprise for her. Payton got her own baby with a car seat and a stroller and a diaper bag. She thought that was so neat! She had to push the stroller all the way out of the hospital. When she got to grandma and papa's house she pushed that stroller all over the house. My mom told me that when she went to bed the stroller had to be right next to her bed and the doll and the diaper bag were in her bed.
