Happy Halloween

Halloween morning from our deck.

For Halloween this year we had a very busy day!! I had a doctors appt, so Payton got to go with me and hear the baby's heart beat. We then went to Karen's and then I headed to work. At about 3:00 I went and pick Payton up and my work does a big party. So she dressed up once again in her "Cinderella costume" and we did a parade at my work. She did a good job but was very scared of anyone with a mask. My department at work dressed up like the characters from "The Office" and we won the costume contest!! YEA!!
After work I took Payton over to Aunt Lindy's house. Payton LOVES her Aunt Lindy! We took cute photos of her and Rian.

When I got home we took Payton to see a couple in our ward. They have a talking pumpkin and it is so cute. Payton loved it!! The pumpkin knew her name and everything. She got in the car and said, "punkin talked to me" this lady dresses up like a witch with a fake nose and all. She also has these great skeletons in her front yard. I really need to take photos if she still has them up. They are made out of PVC pipe. One is sitting on a hot pink toilet reading the paper. The other one is mowing the lawn and there is a head sticking out of the lawn mower. She also has a hooker that stands on the corner. The family was the "Donner party" for our Trunk or Treat..They were dressed up kinda like pioneers and they were barbecuing skeletons. She was also passing out sugar cookies that looked like fingers. She is great!! This lady was born and raised in Herriman! She told me that in 1980 there was one ward in Herriman and in 1998 there was only one stake in Herriman, that is only 10 years ago. Now there are 6 stakes in Herriman. It is crazy how fast this place is growing!!

We then came home and got in our jammies ate some soup and passed out candy. We also opened a present from Grandma & Papa Truman. It was a very fun Halloween!!

My baby is two!!

I cannot believe that it has truly been two years since I had Payton. She has her mommy and daddy wrapped around her little finger! She has been such an easy little girl to raise. When you ask her to do something she typically does it. My favorite lately has been when she has been eating. We will tell her "if you eat two more bites then you can get out" So she does it and we get her out. She is smart that way. My other favorite thing lately is in the morning I will say "let's go Payton" and she will reply, "I'm coming"

It is amazing to think that just 2 years ago I was in the hospital and let me tell you it is a treat to be in the hospital on Halloween. You get to see all of these nurses and doctors who you trust dressed up in Halloween costumes. I still remember they came in to take my blood at 5:30 AM. I woke up to a nurse dressed like little red riding hood but she had blood all over her and her basket was full of needles with the wolf's tail hanging out of it. FREAKY!! Then Payton's pediatrician dressed up like a clown and one was dressed up like a soccer player. A bit difficult to take them seriously :-) We could have chose to have Payton on Halloween but I opted out, Tim was all for it.

We love our little Payton sooo very much. She has been such a wonderful blessing to our lives! Tonight we had trunk or treat and everyone would tell her Happy Birthday and she would reply with a "Thank you" After, Tim and I brought her home and gave her a cupcake and sang to her. Well and she sang too! She was all smiles! Then we stayed up in Mommy and Daddy's bed and watched "Nemo" Her party is Saturday...so more photos to come :-)

LOVE YOU PAYTON!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETHEART!

Trunk or Treat

Tonight we had Trunk or Treat at the church! There were soooo many people there. It was a lot of fun! The kids were adorable! The young men built this haunted house out of cardboard for the kids to go through. They did a great job! Even Tim got in on the action. He is such a kid at heart! He loves Halloween because he loves to scare people! So he sat at the end of the haunted house and would scare the kids as they came out. He then passed out candy at the trunk and scared all of the little kids. I will post photos soon so you can see his scary mask. I took Payton around to all of the cars and she would tell everyone that, "Daddy looks scary"

Here is a photo of my sweet little princess! I will post others as soon as I download them...

Tim & I are over all of the activities, go figure...non-social and an event planner, ha ha! It has been really fun though. We have had some fun activities and some great attendance. We kinda laughed because the bishop asked us to host an activity a month and we were a little skeptical but it has been great! We have met a lot of great people!!

the pumpkin patch

Tonight we took Payton to the pumpkin patch. Tim put her in the wheel barrow and she hated it. So she walked around with mommy. She had fun trying to pick up all of the pumpkins. She would tell us, "pumpkin too heavy". At the end we took photos of her on the hay and the tractors. She wanted nothing to do with the tractor at first and then we couldn't get her off of it.

Patey went pee pee in the potty

We bought Payton a potty some time ago. Just so she could become familiar with it. Well every morning before she gets in the tub she sits on it and then gets up without doing anything she says, "all done". Well tonight as Tim was getting Payton in her jammies she said "I need to go potty". She tells us this quite often and so Tim dismissed it. I told him you should always encourage her. So off we went to sit on the potty. She sat there for a minute and then she went! I am so proud of my little Payton! Good job Patey!

No Weafs

So my cute little Payton is PETRIFIED of leaves! As soon as we pull up to Karen's in the morning she starts to panic and saying "weafs, weafs" We then get out of the car and usually she wants to be carried. Kinda funny for a girl just a year ago sat in them and giggled the entire time!

Well last week while she was asleep I decorated our house for fall and I always put leaf garland around my stairwell and fireplace. She came out and was a little panicked at first. Then Tim had her touch them and step on them. So this has been working for a bit. But today again as soon as we got to Karen's the panic set in. So I picked up a leave and tried to get her to touch it and she freaked out. I feel so bad that she is so tortured by something so little....

Cravings

Cravings are the funniest things. I have not had any funny cravings like ice cream and pickles but I thought it would be a good memory for my kids to see what I craved when I was pregnant with them.

With Payton...I was at work one day and all I wanted was grilled cheese sandwiches! So on the way home I stopped and bought everything to make them and came home and had grilled cheese sandwiches. Keep in mind that I didn't even know at the time that I was pregnant but my cravings were strong!!
side note: I thought it was funny because there were 3 other girls in my department at work that were pregnant and I would listen to their symptoms and their cravings, etc...and one day I thought, hmmmm I feel that same way. So I took a pregnanacy test and it came back negative. Then I went to the doctor and sure enough...I was pregnanat.)
Anyways, both of the pregnancies I have loved carrots!! In the first couple of months I would eat a ton of carrots. I didn't eat a lot of crackers, just carrots. I also had a very strong craving for certain drinks. This has been with both pregnancies. with Payton, I wanted lemonade, Grapefruit juice and cran-grape in that order. We would have to make stops at the gas station just to get a lemonade before we would go somewhere. I would also go to Sam's Club and buy the big gallons of ruby red grapefruit juice!! I also could not get enough watermelon and strawberries! I have been a big fruit and vegetable fan with both. My downfall with Payton was french fries. I am not a big fast food fan but I loved french fires for the first bit of my pregnancy. I think it was that they were fast and I could hurry and eat them so I wouldn't get sick. But I could not eat pasta with Payton, in fact I still do not have a love for pasta. Funny thing is that is Payton's favorite thing to eat!!

With this one it has been kinda funny all I wanted in the beginning was salad and peaches. I think that is all I ate for the first 3 months. Then I have started to have cravings for things that I have not eaten for a while or that I don't eat at all...sorry honey the craving for red meat or a Whopper from Burger King still is not there. The first thing that I wanted was lemon-lime Gatorade. I HATE Gatorade, I never have liked it but I have definitely become a fan this pregnancy. The next thing I was addicted to were sunflower seeds. I must have needed the salt. I also wanted peanut butter, I have not had a peanut butter sandwich since at least high school, if not longer. I also made my in-laws bring me some sourdough bread from Trader Joe's in Vegas. They have the best bread!! I really wanted it to make tomato sandwiches! There is nothing better than a fresh garden tomato on sourdough bread! YUMMY!! I have also wanted root beer and caffeine free diet coke, this is funny to me since I don't drink carbonation or really either drink. I have wanted vegetable tempura with this one as well. So I made it for 2 nights in a row and I was good to go....I have also craved these chicken tacos that you get from Costco...unfortunately the Costco's around here do not carry them, believe me I have been to many. You can only get them in St. George. So thanks to my mom and dad they have been keeping me stocked!! And funny, I have not had a craving to get on a treadmill or an elliptical. This has also been the case with both pregnancies :-)

I laugh at the things that I have craved!! Luckily I have a GREAT husband who indulges me and will run to the store and pick up whatever I need. Thanks babe, Your the BEST!!

Sick little girl

It has been a long week...for me, but definitely longer for Payton. It started last Monday. When I picked her up from Karen's she smelled like throw up. Karen said that she barely ate at lunch and what she did eat, she got rid of very quickly. Then that evening her temperature rose to 105.5. At 1:30 in the morning, I called the pediatrician on call and he advised us to take her to the emergency room. We got there and she started throwing up all over Tim. Poor Tim, he hates the smell or anything to do with it. It actually gags him, but he was a trooper, not by choice! :-) They diagnosed her with a bad case of strep. They told us her tonsils are so swollen that they are touching and they are covered with infection. So the next night we are at it again. Her temperature was about 104.7. Meanwhile she is living off of Ibuprofen, antibiotics, Tylenol and milk. We could hardly get anything else in her. On Wednesday night her temperature again got up to 104.6. So on Thursday morning I called the pediatrician and they told me that it was normal with a virus to have that high of a fever but if she had it again tonight to call them. So on Thursday night I thought we were starting to win the battle. She came and ate dinner with us and we went downstairs and watched a movie. She was doing great! Then that night the high fever kicked in once again. So I took her back in on Friday and her fever at the doctors office was 105.7!!! They were ready to send me to Primary Children's and were concerned that it was meningitis. But after a bit the fever went down significantly and they believe she has strep and another throat virus. The doctor said it is one of the worse cases she has seen. So they placed her on a high dose of antibiotics. But that day she finally started to eat more and we have not had too much of a fever since then.

Thank heavens!! This has not been fun for my poor little Payton. You just wish you could do something to make them feel better. Well I am keeping my fingers crossed that we are done...we will see! Oh did I also mention that she is getting two teeth as well!! Poor Payton!

He has a sister, 3 sister in laws, 3 daughters and 3 granddaughters. I guess you could say he is GREATLY outnumbered!! But one thing is for sure, he is the best "papa" ever!! I am sure that he is excited to have a grandson, FINALLY :-)

You would think we could get an updated photo :-)

I am excited!! This will be an adventure!

Happy Birthday Papa Erv

Today is my Grandpa Erv's 85th Birthday, he is better known around our house as "Papa Erv" My grandpa is the best papa EVER!! I have spent a lot of time with my grandpa and grandma growing up. They only lived about 4 blocks away when I was little. I would ride my bike over and play cards with them and eat peanut butter twix's and jello pudding pops...those were the best! My grandpa also taught me to bowl. He would take me bowling all of the time when I was younger. He is the most amazing man!! Payton and I called him today to wish him a Happy Birthday. Payton loves Papa Erv and Grandma Peggy. She sat and talked to them on the phone for a little bit tonight. Happy Birthday Papa Erv, we love you!

whiney butt wanted new photos :-)

So...last week I posted some photos of Tim's cars that he SOLD! Yes, they are gone and no longer making a mess in my garage :-) But there are still a lot of parts that have yet to be sold, HINT HINT. Anyways...I was told that the photos I posted were not good enough. So here are the new photos that Tim would like posted of his two babies....

This is at Peach Days in Brigham City. They have one of the largest car shows in the West. Tim won for best sport compact..(I think that was the category) The blue car is really pretty!! and the guy standing next to it ain't to bad either :-)

and here is the UGLY white car that Tim probably drove 10 times, maybe, that might be stretching it :-)...no worries, I'm not bitter

Lots of movement

I only have about 10 weeks left and this is the best part of being pregnant because of ALL the movement!! I love feeling him move all of the time. Except for he is running out of space and so every once in a while he decides to do his gymnastics and then it hurts. I am looking forward to a few more weeks of this and then I think I am ready to toss in the towel :-)

BTW...I met this girl this weekend that eats the baby's placenta....WHAT in the world?? I am not sure if any of you do this, but I guess it is just NOT FOR ME!!

You hear the CRAZIEST things when you are pregnant!!

Miss Manners

Where has the time flown by! I cannot believe it is October...that just means I am closer and closer to having a 2 year old!! Payton will be 2 on October 30th! I cannot believe it! But I do have to say she is growing up soooo quickly. She has the BEST manners ever! When you sneeze she will say "bless you", when she burps she says "excuse me" and she always says "please" and "thank you" and also "you're welcome". It is so cute because she will fold her arms and wait for us to fold ours to say her prayers. and when she gets in trouble...she is learning to say that she is "sorry" This has been a tough one for her...she must get it from her daddy, that is a tough one for him too :-) But my favorite is "love you mommy" It melts my heart everytime!!

I am excited for the fall though and I am so excited that the leaves are changing colors..can we just stay in fall forever??
